Why Chocolate Feels So Good ... It's All Down To Lubrication

Date: January 13, 2023 Source: University of Leeds Summary: Scientists have decoded the physical process that takes place in the mouth when a piece of chocolate is eaten, as it changes from a solid into a smooth emulsion that many people find totally irresistible. By analyzing each of the steps, the interdisciplinary research team hope it will lead to the development of a new generation of luxury chocolates that will have the same feel and texture but will be healthier to consume. During the moments it is in the mouth, the chocolate sensation arises from the way the chocolate is lubricated, either from ingredients in the chocolate itself or from saliva or a combination of the two. Fat plays a key function almost immediately when a piece of chocolate is in contact with the tongue. After that, solid cocoa particles are released and they become important in terms of the tactile sensation, so fat deeper inside the chocolate plays a rather limited role and could be reduced without having

Cobb Salad Recipe

I like to dress the salad in advance. Too many people drown the salad, obscuring any subtle taste you get with proper dressing. Almond Milk Recipe

The best homemade almond milk recipe you'll ever make! Ingredients 1   cup/243g   raw whole almonds 4   cups/950ml   filtered water (plus more for soaking overnight) Instructions Add almonds to a bowl and cover with enough water to submerge. Soak 6-8 hours or overnight. This helps them soften enough so that they can blend properly. In the morning, drain almonds from their soaking water and rinse them in a colander. Add soaked almonds and 4 cups of fresh filtered water to a high-powered blender.  Blend on high speed for 1 minute, adding 30 seconds more if you feel it necessary to blend. Place your nut milk bag over a large bowl or pitcher. Pour the almond milk into the bag and strain the liquid into the bowl, using your hands to wring out all of the milk. Pour the almond milk from the bowl into glass jars. Almond milk will keep in the fridge for up to a week, if not longer. If it separates, simply shake the jars. Recipe Notes Don’t toss the nut pulp -- it can be used to make homemad
